Frequently Asked Questions

With so many initiatives in one place, there are bound to be questions.

We are here to help!

How are the different
organisations funded?

For the first four years, Elise worked everyday, living on a basic Centrelink pension, using personal loans to focus on the growth of the mission without profit.

In 2024, after operating for 2 years as a small family business, Elise and Braden chose to expand Here's to Strength into two separate organisations, Here's to Strength Community Wellness Collaborative operating as a Not for Profit and the Here's to Strength Self Care Directory, focusing on different directives with a mutual mission to bridge the gap of access to self care.

Both have been privately funded and built by volunteered hours.

Moving forward, all not for profit activities conducted by the Here's to Strength Community Wellness Collaborative may be eligible for grants that directly support the community.

The Here's to Strength Self Care Directory will remain privately owned and operated.

Why are there multiple organisations built by Here's to Strength?

With so many goals to achieve, sometimes it's best to focus efforts with a streamlined approach.

After careful consideration of what Here's to Strength was, Elise felt wholeheartedly it was more than just one thing, especially with her one stop approach to self care combining so many different types of self care in one place.

With too many objectives to achieve under one model of support, it was clear different tasks were at hand.

So together with her partner Braden in conjunction with five other board members developing the not for profit, they created the extensive concept that it is today working in partnership  with one another.

The Here's to Strength Self Care Directory also donated $10 from every listing fee to the Here's to Strength Community Support Fund that is run by the not for profit that provides financial hardship support to its community.

How can I help?
Can I donate or volunteer?

As we are working to support individuals through their most vulnerable moments, we are often asked how the community can help.

With costs rising to keep the doors open, we sincerely appreciate any donations towards our not for profit cause.

All donations received through our donate function on this website goes directly to support the Here's to Strength Community Wellness Collaborative which operates our Commmunity Wellness Hub and Community Support Fund.

No donated proceeds from this website are allocated to the Here's to Strength Self Care Directory.

Other ways of supporting our cause include collecting food and hygiene items for our community pantry in Aldinga.

Together we can make a real difference.

How do I access financial hardship support through the Here's to Strength Community Support Fund?

Eligible individuals are able to access approved self care services through the use of the HTOS fund by approval of the service provider directly or through GP referral assessment.

Individuals may receive up to three partially or fully subsidised appointments per calendar year.

How can I provide feedback about an independent service provider listed on the Self Care Directory?
